1. The Emerald Paradise, Hamdeok Beach
The first stop on your Jeju Island East Course after arriving at the airport is Hamdeok Beach.
Even among locals, this beach is famous for having the most beautiful water color in Jeju.
The ‘Maldives of Korea’ & Seaside Cafe
The water at Hamdeok Beach is shallow and crystal clear. On a sunny day, the emerald color makes you feel like you are in the Maldives.
Behind the white sandy beach, tall palm trees line the coast, creating an exotic atmosphere.
Don’t miss the terrace at Cafe Delmoondo, which sits right above the water.

This massive volcanic crater rising from the sea is a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site and the most iconic landmark of Jeju.
Majestic Crater & Haenyeo Divers
Looking like a giant crown worn by nature, Seongsan Ilchulbong is overwhelmingly majestic.
It takes about 20-30 minutes to hike up the stairs to the summit. Once there, you are rewarded with a breathtaking panoramic view of the massive green crater and the deep blue ocean.
At the foot of the peak, if you are lucky, you can watch the Haenyeo (traditional female divers) catching seafood or performing a cultural show. It is the perfect blend of nature’s mystery and cultural heritage.

There are many restaurants near Seongsan, but I highly recommend ‘Bokja-ssi’ (Bokja-ssi Yeontan-gui), a favorite among both locals and tourists.
Juicy Black Pork Grilled on ‘Yeontan’
The secret here is the ‘Yeontan’ (coal briquette) fire. Unlike gas grills, the high heat of the briquette imparts a subtle, smoky flavor to the meat.
Dip the thick, juicy Black Pork into the boiling ‘Mel-jeot’ (anchovy sauce). The combination of the savory pork and the salty, umami-rich sauce is an explosion of flavor.
Best of all, if you sit by the window, you can enjoy your meal while overlooking the blue ocean of Seongsan.
The staff will grill the meat for you to perfection, so you just need to relax and enjoy the finale of your Jeju Island East Course.
